HS748s Cockpit

Description

The cockpit of the Hawker Siddeley HS748, a medium-sized turbo-prop airliner designed in the late 1950's, by the British firm, Avro. It was developed as a replacement for the ageing DC-3's and then put into widespread service as feedliners, small airliner designed to carry approximately 100 people, flown by regional airlines.

As you can see, a lot of the cockpit was gutted out and the windows had been boarded up, which is an absolute shame. It did make for an interesting photograph though. My aim was to capture all of the little details of the cockpit in a nice crisp, high contrast photo.

I think you did a fantastic job at capturing the cockpit and showing just how much time can effect something. It really is a shame how things that aren't cared for can be ruined and destroyed by time. Parts of our history have been destroyed and lost because not enough people cared about it and thought it was a waste. Images like this really express that.

You did a good job capturing all the minor details and showing how complex the airliner was. It's something you wouldn't notice from the outside or from other angles. A lot of work and thought goes into these things and not enough time and effort is spent restoring and protecting them.
